On June 19, 2004, DCP graduated its first class of students.  94% of them are attending four-year universities.  They are blazing a trail for their siblings, neighbors, and cousins to follow.  Our graduates will remember DCP as a place where their hope for college success became a reality.

School Development
  • 100% of DCP’s first graduating class were accepted to four-year universities. 
  • DCP formed the Scholarship Committee and established the Scholarship Fund to help bridge the gap between the financial aid package offered by a college and the total cost to attend. This year, the Scholarship Committee awarded $250,000 to our graduates. 
  • Working in partnership with the San Jose Unified School District, a permanent site for DCP has been identified; DCP plans to move in Fall 2005. 
  • Successful recruitment strategy—DCP was overenrolled for the 2004-2005 school year and carries a waitlist of interested freshmen.
  • DCP received candidacy status by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is preparing to receive full accreditation.
  • DCP's courses are approved for UC admission requirements.
  • DCP serves as a model for new school development among local education entrepreneurs and think tanks.

Student Academic Achievement
  • 94% of graduates are currently enrolled in four-year universities.  Please click here for a list of colleges students are attending.

  • DCP exceeded its 2004 Academic Performance Index (API) state target with a remarkable 38-point jump.
    DCP received a 2004 API score of 627.

  • High School Exit Exam
    96% of juniors passed both sections of  the California High School Exit Exam.

  • 100% of students enrolled in AP Spanish Language passed the AP Exam
    57.1% of them received a score of 5 (the highest possible score) compared to the global average of 29.9%.

  • DCP seniors, the vast majority of whom entered DCP reading between the 4th and 6th grade level, have caught up with their peers and are now reading at grade level.
