Our Philosophy
All students who graduate from Downtown College Prep will be:
- College Ready.
As first-generation college-bound students, DCP graduates are prepared for the academic and personal challenges of four-year colleges and universities.
- Literate.
DCP students learn to:
- Read, collect, and analyze information independently
- Think systematically about the information
- Precisely and fluently articulate their thinking
- Achieve proficiency on standards-based English Language Arts Content courses
- Numerate.
DCP students become:
- Fluent with numbers and mathematical processes
- Able to use numbers to understand and access problems in all disciplines
- Proficient on standards-based Math Content Algebra and Pre-Algebra courses
- Representatives of DCP’s values.
DCP students learn to adopt the schools values of:

- Comunidad (community)
- Orgullo (pride)
in all they do at school and beyond.
