  • 97% of Class of 2011 enrolled in college; 56% enrolled at four-year schools
  • DCP ranks #2 in College-Going Rate to California Public Colleges among public high schools in Santa Clara County (2009 most recent data).
  • DCP graduates are 6x more likely to graduate from college in six years than their peers across California and the United States.
  • 90% of the Class of 2010 returned to college for the second year.
  • DCP has graduated nearly 500 alumni since 2004.

Fast Facts: Downtown College Prep (grades 9-12)

  • DCP Alameda was the first, and remains the only, charter high school in Santa Clara County to focus on low-achieving, urban minority students who will be the first in their families to go to college.
  • Enrolls 400 students in grades 9 through 12.
  • 95% Latino
  • 42% English Language Learners
  • 86% qualify for free or reduced lunch
  • 82% of 9th graders read below the 7th grade level
  • 52% of 9th graders compute below the 7th grade level

Fast Facts: DCP Alum Rock (grades 6-8)

  • Opened in August 2011 serving 180 6th and 7th grade students.
  • Charter was approved unanimously by the Santa Clara Board of Education in 2009.
  • Will add a new class of 6th graders each year, ultimately serving over 600 students in grades 6-12.
